PORNOGRAPHY
God meant for sexuality to bless marriage, our most intimate and committed relationship, with ecstasy in body and soul.
When our longings are left unfulfilled, and when relationships disappoint us, we can look for relief in all the wrong places. Despite its growing acceptance, pornography actually steals our deepest desires and incapacitates us for genuine intimacy. Band-aid solutions that involve merely behavioral changes (disconnecting from the internet, not looking at beautiful people, etc.) while good, are often short lived and can not reach the core issues underneath our compulsions. We at Grace Clinic would like to offer a recovery of the union between sexuality and vulnerability, between excitement and intimacy – relief exists for those seeking freedom from the trappings of pornography.
Quote:
"We use a most unfortunate idiom when we say, of a lustful man…, that he ‘wants a woman.’ Strictly speaking, that is just want he does not
want. He wants a pleasure for which a woman happens to be the necessary piece of apparatus."
