PARENTING CHALLENGES

There is no expert parent. There are humble parents, wise parents, loving parents, parents who learn from their mistakes and ask for forgiveness. But parenting, like all our most significant relationships, does not lend itself to expertise. It is because this is so that there is room and need for the comfort of grace and the pain of disappointment.

Every parent will fail their children in some way or another. While everyone knows that there are no one is perfect, when it comes to parenting, it seems that we need a regular reminder of this fact – so that we don’t get too discouraged, but also so we can keep growing as parents. Seeing the effects of one’s own sin on the persons whom we love a humbling experience, to say the least. This is doubly so for our children who are dependent upon us for their well-being. If as parents we don’t have an awareness of our strengths and our short-comings we will be unable to take account of how we’re impacting our children, whether positively and negatively. This means parents need someone in their lives to explore how they are impacting their children, someone who can shoot them straight and encourage them through the inevitable frustrations that come being a parent. Let us at Grace Clinic help you through the parenting problems that can make all the difference for those people whom you love the most.

Quote:
"Because no other arena in life holds us more hostage to hope, more afraid to dream, more defensive about our decisions, and more open to receive help – all simultaneously. The intensity and passion of parenting bring the potential not only for our worst, but also for our best as human beings. It is the space in our lives where we are most open to the work of God to change us…"
