Do you ever find yourself saying, “I know this doesn’t make sense; but, in spite of everything I know about God and life, I keep thinking, feeling, or doing _____ (fill in the blank).”

If so, you’re not alone. Our logical brains don’t always come through for us when we long to change damaging thought patterns, painful feelings, or destructive behaviors. Often it’s not enough to know what’s right; we must also engage our hearts in order to experience profound and lasting change. The right hemisphere of our brains, which is the storehouse of feelings and images, must join our left-hemisphere, which is the logic center, for holistic healing to take place.

Grace Clinic’s Art for the Heart workshop offers a powerful combination of collage and journaling that will allow you to engage both parts of your brain. The process is simple and fun, but surprisingly revealing.  You’ll be amazed how working with photos and images can illicit deep responses in your soul.

No artistic skill is required. All you need are an open heart and the willingness to let the process impact you.

The Art for the Heart workshop allows you to explore parts of yourself, your community, and the themes that influence your life. The workshop includes a brief teaching, collaging, journaling, and small group discussions led by professional counselors from the Grace Clinic staff.

All the materials for the day will be supplied, as well as ideas for how to continue the process at home and use your collage and journal entries in your daily life.
